Danube, a Bridge across Cultures and Peoples - Music from the East: Echoes beyond Time

The concert features Iskon, founded in 2001 in Subotica (Serbia), an ensemble devoted to the traditional music of the Balkans. With a repertoire of over 70 original pieces and numerous performances at international festivals, Iskon blends folk instruments with evocative vocal harmonies.
The ensemble’s work seeks to preserve and renew the musical heritage of Serbia, Kosovo and Metohija, bridging tradition and contemporary music.
The program traces the most authentic sounds of the Balkans, brought to life through traditional instruments such as the "frula" and "kaval", pastoral flutes with a raw, intense timbre that evokes the human voice and engages in dialogue with folk singing.
Alongside them, other instruments from the region’s rich musical heritage intertwine with the voices, creating a vibrant soundscape that blends ritual, dance, and storytelling. This concert marks the Iskon's Italian debut, a special opportunity to experience live a repertoire that reveals the story of a people’s roots while celebrating their ability to renew and resonate in the present.
