Bodies

The Prologo association in Gorizia presents a solo exhibition by Piero Pieri titled *Bodies* (*Corpi*). This photographic work draws inspiration from the traces—garments and personal belongings—left behind by migrants as they cross the Karst plateau during the final leg of the Balkan route.

However, Piero Pieri’s artistic project does not aim to document the tragedy itself; rather, it seeks to engage with these events to foster personal reflection: can we all deepen our empathy for these stories? 

Above all, can we recognize a shared bond with these people in their dire need, acknowledging the human condition as a journey through the span of a single life? 

Bodies in transit—which, as seen in these images, leave behind traces and empty garments that also symbolize the memory and legacy of our own actions. 

The result is a series of analog photographs printed as fine art prints—images created as staged scenes. Only the final photograph stands apart, capturing an actual jacket abandoned by a migrant, upon which falls the shadow of a body in transit.
