Realtà aumentate//Casa Rossa Più vicino da lontano - Bližje od daleč

Casa Rossa – Closer from Afar is a performance that, with the participation of the audience, takes a walk through history and revives events that took place at the border crossing at the Red House between 1947 and 1991. The entire performance comes to life thanks to the participation of the audience. The border and the rules dictated by historical events and political decisions have inevitably affected the inhabitants of the border area.

We paid a lot of attention to researching stories and material and selecting the people who would participate in the project. The performers and those who will interact with the audience experience the border, the bilingualism of the area, and the exchange between Italian and Slovenian culture on a daily basis.

The entire performance comes to life thanks to the audience's participation. The border and the rules dictated by historical events and political decisions inevitably affected the people living along the border.

However, it was the residents themselves who breathed life into the border, enriched it, suffered because of it, and also exploited it. They elevated it above the level of a simple line, even though it was not allowed to cross the boundaries of the system that had been set from above.

During the performance Casa Rossa – Closer from Afar, the audience will experience the same dynamics: with the help of audio and video material and the performers, they will be guided through the performance, but at a certain point they will be invited to participate, transforming the performance into a live event.

With the help of headphones and the performers, the audience will become the protagonists of the story and, in a light-hearted but respectful way, get to know the characters and anecdotes that have marked this border crossing.

The performance will take place exactly where the stories are set. Those who are already familiar with the border will have the opportunity to discover new details or relive moments they have witnessed, while others will learn about the stories of this area for the first time. We will approach historical events as outside observers and delve into them from a privileged and impartial position.

In this way, we will be closer from afar.

We have paid great attention to researching stories and material and selecting the people who will participate in the project.

The performers and people who will be interacting with the audience experience the border, the bilingualism of the area, and the exchange between Italian and Slovenian culture on a daily basis.

At 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The project is financed by the European Union through the GO! 2025 Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
