Are you a visual artist under 35 interested in exploring the concept of borders through contemporary art?

AROUND invites you to participate in a 4-day artistic residency in Gorizia/Nova Gorica, within the framework of GO! 2025 - European Capital of Culture.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The proposals of four visual artists under-35 (students and/or professional artists) will be selected to realise an original work related to the border theme.

The ‘site-specific’ works may be

Audiovisual (video-art) Sound (soundscapes, field recordings,) During the residency, each artist will work on a specific area of the Borderless area between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, assigned according to the selected artistic proposal.

WHEN AND WHERE

Period: The residency will take place during 4 days of May 2025, from 12th to 15th May (TBC)

Venue: Gorizia / Nova Gorica THE PHYGITAL EXHIBITION PATH The works will be transformed into phygital installations, geolocated along an ideal path between Italy and Slovenia and accessible h24 hours a day through the AROUND webpage.

Viewers will be able to enjoy the works directly from their device, immersing themselves in a unique experience that connects art, territory and innovative artistic languages. The digital works will be placed in public areas of the municipalities of: Aquileia, Gorizia / Nova Gorica, San Canzian d'Isonzo, Savogna d'Isonzo.
