Friday, February 21 at 6:00 pm at La Ferula - Locanda Italia, Staranzano Giovanni Baiocchi presents: "A country to go on holiday: A journey into the character of italians" By Marco Dreosto The author, after defining the notion of national character, retraces the various interpretations - often not free from prejudices and stereotypes - that have been identified on the mindset of the average Italian, especially by the countless devotees of the Grand Tour in the Peninsula.

With an approach free from moral evaluations, he then tries to outline his own conjecture, a hypothesis of explanation of "being Italian". 

According to this hypothesis, it is inherent in the Italian modus agendi - as a precipitate and fruit of centuries of history - a marked and prevalent predisposition for the external, exterior, aesthetic, epithelial moment of action, to the detriment of interiority, depth and reflective introspection that inevitably lead to the restlessness of living.

The author then examines how this behavioral paradigm reverberates in 5 fundamental “sectors” of existence: the family, the street, religion, politics, war.
