52nd Friuli Venezia Giulia Cycling Tour

The 52nd Edition of the Cyclist Tour of Friuli Venezia Giulia for Master is a historic cycling event for our Region and has been organized for 52 years now.

It is a source of pride as it is the only event of its kind in Italy organised within the Italian Cycling Federation's National Calendar. Since its inception, the event has been designed to give participants the opportunity to get to know our region.

This year, the Giro will be enriched by an extra day of events, with four stages being organised.

Unlike previous years, with the intention of bringing prestige and contributing to the promotion of Gorizia - Nova Gorica, Capital of Culture 2025, the event will mainly involve the Friuli plain, the pre-Alpine area and the Collio and Gorizia Karst.

Each stage aims to showcase the different characteristics of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Friuli plain around Mortegliano, Codroipo and Latisana with its biotopes and characteristic villages, Tavagnacco and the areas between Attimis, Faedis, the Gorizia Karst and the sites of the Great War and their important historical significance, the Collio with its unique vineyards, Gorizia, its historic centre and castle, which will host the final stage and the awards ceremony.

The stages take place in the morning to give participants the opportunity to visit our region in the afternoon with their families.

To ensure the safety of the event, the roads used will be mostly secondary and low-traffic roads, to promote awareness of cycle routes that can be used by families and groups of cycle tourists.

At each stage, the first man, woman and Paralympic athlete in the time classification will wear the leader's jersey.

In addition, all participants will receive gadgets and promotional material provided by the areas crossed and on other tourist opportunities in the area. The event will also be promoted through a brochure with photographs of the event and the places crossed, which will be distributed to participants.

The event will be promoted by a professional press office, which will promote and broadcast interviews and daily summaries of each stage, which will be broadcast online via Facebook, YouTube and the main national cycling tourism websites, such as Ciclismoweb and Cicloturismo.it.

Historically, the event has attracted international participation, with participants from Italy, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and some Arab countries, including Qatar.
