27th Sajeta Music Festival 2026

For 27 years, the Sajeta International Music Festival has brought together leading artists from the contemporary, experimental and independent music scene. From 16 to 18 July, the festival will take place for the first time at its new venue, Karavla in Breginj, on the Slovenian-Italian border along the Nadiža River.

After nearly three decades of creative exploration, musical discoveries, and unforgettable encounters at the Tolmin confluence, the Sajeta Festival enters a new chapter of its story.

The 27th edition of this international festival of music and arts—one of the longest-running and most distinctive events in Slovenia’s independent cultural scene—will take place for the first time from 16 to 18 July 2026 at a new location: the Karavla “Most na Nadiži” in Breginj, on the edge of the Julian Alps.

Since 1998, Sajeta has grown into a cultural phenomenon from the margins, presenting an internationally relevant programme that stands alongside much larger alternative festivals worldwide.

Its intimate scale remains one of its defining strengths, offering audiences a close and immersive experience of live performance. Across three festival days, artists from Japan, Ghana, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary, Germany, and Slovenia will gather in Breginj.

The programme spans experimental, improvised, electronic, jazz, rock, and ambient music, along with a wide range of cross-genre collaborations.

This year’s line-up features Green Milk From The Planet Orange, WaqWaq Kingdom, ABOP, BiTOI, Etceteral, and many other international and local artists.

The festival also includes workshops, film screenings, performances, and talks, contributing to a broader space of cultural exchange and exploration.

Set within the extraordinary natural surroundings of the Julian Alps, close to the Nadiža River and the Italian border, Sajeta continues to evolve while remaining true to its essence: a gathering place shaped by music, curiosity, creativity, and respect for diversity.
