he Unione Ciclisti Caprivesi, an amateur club founded in 1979 and regularly involved in the promotion of cycling, both competitive and promotional, for over forty-five years, after the organizational success of the 2008 Italian Youth Championships and the 2014 Italian Absolute Mountain Bike Championships, which earned it the award from the Italian Cycling Federation for the high organizational quality and the beauty of the route, as well as the open appreciation from local bodies, institutions and economic entities for the positive and effective impact that the event has had at local, provincial and regional level, in 2024 has the honor of seeing its candidacy accepted to set up a new tricolor in Gorizia.
Thus, on 14 and 15 June 2024 Gorizia will host a race for the youth categories, Olympic XCO specialty and will once again be the capital of the world of mountain biking as well as the center of gravity of the off-road cycling movement.
Obviously the 21st Gorizia City Trophy will be an important showcase for the city of Gorizia itself and the beauties that surround it, from Collio to Carso, already polished for the commemorations of the Great War and therefore fully accessible to tourists / cyclists and excellent promotion also for GORIZIA 2025; no less important and qualified will be the presence of the media of television, print and web.
An important opportunity that the entire community of Gorizia will have to help support and share with the Organization, starting from the Bodies and Administrations, to continue with the associations and the local economic fabric to continue investing in this sector of eco-sustainable tourism, which by exploiting the countless connection possibilities offered by the cycle paths that cross the Collio and the Carso can become a permanent resource for our activities engaged in the accommodation, catering and agritourism sector.
