15th edition of the Giro d'Italia handbike

The initiative represents one of the most important sporting events at European level, supported by the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Italian National Olympic Committee and the Italian Cycling Federation, and includes a circuit of races designed to promote inclusion and to offer participating athletes the possibility of competing in a final ranking that - similarly to what happens at a professional level - gives them the opportunity to wear the "pink jersey".

The "Giro d’Italia di Hand-Bike" is an event supported by the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Italian National Olympic Committee and the Italian Cycling Federation, and includes a circuit of races designed to promote inclusion and to offer participating athletes the opportunity to compete for a final ranking that gives them the opportunity to wear the "Pink Jersey".

The competition also aims to create moments of socialization, to teach how to face and overcome the challenges of disability, to improve the quality of life of disabled citizens and to increase the visibility of the initiative and the territories that host the event. Monfalcone will host a stage of the 15th edition of the event in July, providing a route of almost 4,600 m within the city center.

As regards, specifically, the organizational aspects, the event will take place on Sunday 13 July, developing, as in the previous stage, within the city center with departure from Piazza della Repubblica, at 11:00 and arrival in Via Valentinis.

Furthermore, inside the Area Verde of via Valentinis, a village will be set up to promote sports and, in particular, cycling and paracycling, and to host some food and wine stands to promote local products.
