FESTIVAL KRAŠKA GMAJNA – Karst Commons: From Hillforts to Dry Stone Walls

A walk through traditional Karst architecture.

We will gather at the main square of Temnica, the highest-lying village on the Karst Plateau, and first head toward the hillfort of Saint Ambrose, where we will explore how the cultural landscape was shaped in prehistoric and Roman times. The walk continues past the village of Lipa toward Vojščica, discovering dry stone walls built over the past centuries along the way. We will visit the traditional ponds (kali) near Lipa and Vojščica, and later also explore the “Potato Cave” (Krompirjeva jama). The excursion will end at another hillfort – Grmača – before returning to our starting point in Temnica.

The event will be held in Slovene and English.
The number of places is limited. Free entry with mandatory registration.
