The play addresses upcycling through a dialogue between Quinta Claudia, an ancient matron of great character who distinguished herself in Roman Aquileia for her innovative spirit, and Flora, the contemporary designer with a decisive and subtly polemical temperament, known for her proactive approach to upcycling, dedicated to safeguarding the planet.
After the first empathetic encounter in a ceramics workshop and the subsequent wandering through the factories, discovering scraps for recycling, Flora's incredulity emerges in the face of the incarnation of the past.
While sharing the desire to maintain a balance between humanity and the environment, which emerges in the interweaving of knowledge from history and the present, the dialogues are at times tinged with tension. Conflict thus emerges between the two protagonists. A tense conflict of accusations, defenses, convictions, and doubts quickly manifests as a clash, a contest between two distant eras.
Sociological reflections and nuggets of everyday philosophy, animated by a subtle vein of irony and enlivened by choreographic forays from the past to the present, gradually break down the temporal distance and raise the bridge on which history and the future present meet to travel the same path.
