Jonah's Provocation, a show/concert in the Basilica

Jonah's Provocation, a show/concert in the Basilica

An original and unconventional theatrical performance, yet one that actually conceals a profound reflection on our present and our future. This is " The Provocation of Jonah," the concert/performance hosted by the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia on Wednesday, July 1st, at 8:30 pm , and produced by the Teatro del Leone . The evening, with free admission, will feature Professor Gabriella Burba , Romana Maiori, and Dario Ponissi on the extraordinary stage of the Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1998. Together, the three will bring to life a story that begins with the splendid mosaic of the Jonah Cycle, the central section of the 6th-century mosaic in the Basilica of Aquileia, and extends to the present day and the future of our society. All this will take place in an act of sharing and dialogue with the audience, who will be seated just inches from the mosaic and its magnificent figures.

The show “La Provocazione di Giona”, scheduled for Wednesday 1 July at 8.30 pm, will have free admission , with no reservation required.
