Summer atmospheres in the Resia Valley

“Guided in Wonder” stops in Val Resia, with the Guide Maria Trevisi. SATURDAY 28 JUNE SUMMER ATMOSPHERES IN VAL RESIA A summer afternoon awaits us to discover Val Resia, its people and its history. A unique evening in the company of the locals waiting for the lighting of the “Kris”, the traditional bonfire on the occasion of the feast of San Giovanni and Saints Peter and Paul and the throwing of the “cidule”. We will meet in Stolvizza where we will visit the Knife Grinder Museum together, to understand together the role of this job, first seasonal and then sedentary, in which the men of these lands specialized. We will move together on foot along the streets of the village, where there are various murals on the houses, until we reach the Museum of the People of Val Resia to see together a Resian house and talk about the local culture. With our own cars we will reach Prato di Resia to visit the suggestive Pieve-Santuario di Santa Maria Assunta. For those who wish, we will finally move to the Gniva area where, together with the locals and in front of a plate of pasta, we will wait for the darkness to light the traditional “Kris”, the fire of San Giovanni and Santi Pietro and Paolo. A unique view of the Canin massif and the Musi will frame us while we wait to admire the launch of the “cidule”, the wooden wheels set alight along the slopes of the mountain, a tradition of Celtic origin. And for those who want, there will be the opportunity to try your hand at launching!
