Christmas Night in the Resia Valley

Christmas in Val Resia, from 13 December 2025 to 6 January 2026: nativity scenes throughout the village, the lighting of the Great Star, and a programme of events featuring music and local traditions.

A magical atmosphere awaits you in Val Resia from December 13, 2025, to January 6, 2026: nativity scenes spread throughout the village streets, a striking life‑sized nativity display at Belvedere Roberto Buttolo scenic view with finely-crafted wooden figures, and a Great Star that will light up the village on Christmas Eve, accompanied by stars shining in every home in the valley. Assignation of the “Silver Star of Val Resia” award. Program:   SAT December 13: At 7.00 PM in the Council Hall of the Municipality of Resia, the “Silver Star of the Resia Valley” award will be presented.   From SUN December 14 to TUE December 23: From 4.00 PM to 7.00 PM the giant nativity at Belvedere Roberto Buttolo will be lit.   SUN December 21 - Lighting of the Great Star: At 6.00 PM gathering at the square in front of the Church in Stolvizza/Solbica. At 6:30 PM ascent to Belvedere Roberto Buttolo with music from bagpipes. At 7.00 PM lighting of the Great Star and toast.   From WED December 24 to TUE January 6: From 4.00 PM to 8.00 PM the Great Nativity will remain lit The Great Star will light each evening at dusk and remain lit until 8:00 PM. On Christmas Eve night, it will stay lit until 1:00 AM on December 25. On New Year’s Eve (Wednesday, December 31), it will remain lit until the morning of January 1.   FRI January 2 - Children’s Event: At 2.15 PM arrival of bagpipe players. At 2.30 PM bagpipe players' tour through the village, local venues, and museums. At 4.30 PM departure from the church square to Borgo Kikey and Belvedere. At 5.00 PM lighting of the life-size nativity display and the Great Star. At 5.15 PM bagpipe concert under the crib, toast, and children’s festivity.   TUE January 6: At 8.00 PM the lights of the “Christmas Night in the Resia Valley” project will go out.   For more information:
