The internationally renowned pianist Alexander Gadjiev is the cultural ambassador for his hometown, the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia.

Alexander Gadjiev is an internationally renowned pianist. Two factors have profoundly influenced his musical development: on one hand, his family, composed of musician parents who are also piano teachers; on the other hand, the culture of Central Europe and the city where he was born and raised, the Italian-Slovenian border town of Gorizia, a melting pot of peoples, languages, and cultures. Both aspects have had a decisive effect on his natural ability to absorb and interpret various musical styles, transforming them according to his own taste.

Gadjiev performed his first orchestra concert at the age of 9 and his first solo recital at the age of 10. He graduated in 2013 with top honors, enabling him to participate in the Premio Venezia, a prestigious competition for the best young Italian pianists, where he won first place in the same year. He then studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Pavel Gililov and at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin with Eldar Nebolsin, graduating in the spring of 2022.

He regularly performs at festivals and concerts across Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has appeared at the MITO SettembreMusica in Turin, the Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, and the Rafael Orozco Piano Festival in Cordoba. He has performed at the Kioi and Bunka Kaikan concert halls in Tokyo, the Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara, the Hyogo Center in Osaka, the Salle Cortot in Paris, the Moscow Conservatory, and the Salt Lake City Concert Hall.

He is a cultural ambassador for his hometown, the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica-Gorizia, for which he is preparing a very special concert to be held in 2025 above the Soča River. The piano will be placed on the Solkan Bridge, which connects the Slovenian and Italian banks. The first-class music, the atmospheric lighting, and the unique view from the bridge will make this stage unforgettable, marking Gadjiev's "homecoming" as one of the highlights of GO! 2025.

Also included in the project is a masterclass dedicated to young international musicians, led by Gadjiev, which stands as one of the most important legacies of this European Capital of Culture.
