“Kengo Kuma & Higashikawa” KAGU Design Competition for young

EU-Japan Fest, Japan Committee who supports Japan-related programmes in European Capitals of Culture is now organising a competition for young.
Theme of the competition is called “Young Chair” and aims at students who are 30 years of age or younger from all around the world.

Higashikawa, “The Town of Photography” and “Cultural Capital of Photography”, in the middle of Hokkaido is not only about photography. It is also famous for furniture production. With this competition they intend to expand the possibility for young generations and established a new international competition with a renowned architect Mr Kengo Kuma.
This competition calls for the ideas from the young generation, who will be responsible for the future and ask them to propose a new, mindful way of life with “KAGU” (furniture).

General information about the KAGU Design Competition
Theme: Wooden Chair Designs
Applicants: Students enrolled in various educational institutions, who are 30 years of age or younger.
Submission:1 A3 size sheet (single-sided, landscape orientation) 
Deadline: Pre-registration required by 27 Feb. from the website.
